Conrad Swailes meets Dr Ivan Misner

Dr Ivan Misner was the keynote speaker at the UK BNI Members Day.

He really is a phenomenal influencer.

Dr Misner maintains there are four types of networking and professional networkers practice all four:

• Social networking (online, Twitter Marketing, facebook Marketing etc),
  
• Professional networking (offline, like BNI),
  
• Knowledge networks (trade associations) and
  
• Casual networks (customers, friends etc).

Recent research proves that people who network less than 6.5 hours a week are not very successful. Yet those that do at least 6.5 hours per week achieve much more. Its true ! It works ! I will tweek my activity for sure ... thanks Ivan !

What i thought was incredibly true was his story about a lunch with a head academic at a university in the States where they said they would never teach such a subject as how to network effectively !

Got to be the most important secret in the world nurtured at just about every worthy private education establishment that exists ! I wish i had read his book when i was 18 !
